I don’t have the link and don’t have the patience to search for it but I watched a video from one of the war/intel channels on YT and it had some interesting insight on how the attack took place.Maybe correct, maybe bullshite but seems more plausible than some of the tin foil lover bullshite I’ve seen posted.
Some points from memory:
Most of the Hamas terrorists didn’t know what was going on until the last minute. The ones who did were high level and avoided cell phones etc. to avoid Israeli intercept. They may have know something was brewing but not when or how close the actual action was.
The terrorists waited until the last moment to mass and inform the low level Hamas terrorists and with the holiday there was little chance to notice and sound the alarm in time. You would think the Israelis would have learned about holidays from the Yom Kippur war but some lessons can be forgotten over time. Think of how people acted right after 9/11 and now think how they act on the anniversary now. Hell how many people don't even remember it happened? Being surrounded but terrorist that want to kill you for decades can desensitize you to the danger.
The border fence monitoring system relied heavily on cell networks which were damaged/taken down with low flying drones which were small and went under the Iron Dome. This left the Israelis blind and once again the holiday slowed response. The cell towers going down also meant comms were down all over so once again the alarm was hard to sound and even if certain areas were aware and trying to organize a response, the town over may have been oblivious.
The trained Hamas terrorists were joined by run of the mill pieces of shite in large numbers when the fences were penetrated. This led to the attack being far more successful than even Hamas had planned. Just having large numbers of bloodthirsty murderers running around made the response even harder. They were basically just “wilding” and there was no rhyme or reason so trying to figure out their next move/next target was near impossible and while they were being tracked down people were constantly dying.
Whatever the case I'm sure many lessons will be learned/relearned.

Intelligence apparatuses work best in homogenous societies with high levels of trust. Israel has suffered the same diversity setbacks as us over the past 40 years. Less unity = less ability to coordinate.
Also, when less and less people see the government as good & moral, less competent people will work for the government.

More reports of two US hostages being released to Egypt.

Don't forget: Hamas is playing a PR game.
Hamas announced it is releasing two Americans kidnapped and held hostage in Gaza.
They are still holding 200+ hostages.
As they boast about their "goodwill," they continue launching barrages of terror rockets at Israeli civilians.

The released hostages are a mother and daughter aged 60 and 18 from the US.

The problems with ransoming hostages is that it encourages Hamas to do so again. And wasting time trying to get them will just ensure that Hamas fortifies the area further.

Typically yes, and it's worked before. This just seems way bigger than that.

No shite.
Hamas killed over 1000, kidnapped hundreds, and is trying to wait out things so that they can slink away in the night.
Their problem is that they have made themselves a big enough issue that Israel has united against them and apparently has the will to frick them up permanently.

According to Palestinian media, the two hostages released are Judith and Natalie Raanan from Chicago.
I wonder if this disappoints our salivating, war mongering Government?
The US is desperate for an American reason to get bloody in this war. Freed hostages doesn't help that.

Do we know who? Could it be the Ranaan women from Chicago?
