That should get some attention.

Two remarkable sentences in this speech by Saudi Prince Turki al-Faisal:
"I condemn Hamas for sabotaging the attempt of Saudi Arabia to reach a peaceful resolution” to the Palestinian plight.
"I condemn Israel for funneling Qatari money for Hamas"

That should get some attention.

The church strike is very close to the hospital (parking lot) strike:

ETA: Yet again, we've gone from 500+ people sheltering at the church with "hundreds possibly killed", to 30-50 killed, and now to 9 killed and a dozen or so wounded.
ETAA: Also, the fact that Christians stuck in Gaza were sheltering there has to make a person at least raise an eyebrow.

This is how close the apparent strike on the church is from the Ahli Hospital blast, a little over 400 feet.
Xwitter

Ibrahim, who was staying at the church, told me that at least 9 people are dead and more than a dozen wounded. He estimated several hundred Christians were sheltering there and rescue crew are still digging, meaning it's possible casualties are higher:

quote:that's a big no from several aspects... [unless we're talking about CS or non-lethal]
Saw an interview with the son of Hamas leader who defected to Israel say that the best way to eradicate Hamas would be to gas the tunnels.
He may be right, but can you imagine the global reaction to Israel using chemical weapons?
1. Jews using gas on anyone? That's a no.
2. International law.
3. Practicality: you still have to go in and clear them, you don't want your own troops exposed.
4. Practicality: they comprise several levels and depths so you have to have a neutral in-air buoyancy AND still be able to place it.
5. Would be acknowledgement you possess such, and have stockpiles of such.
6. Retaliation- we know Syria has it, bet your arse Iran does too.
7. Practicality: can you imagine sitting there with a tanker truck pumping that in a hostile urban environment with eyes on you? One hand grenade, sniper, IED, etc. and you wipe out everybody nearby. Not to mention the drive in.
quote:I for one applaud both statements. And is a GREAT sign, and bat signal, that Saudi recognizes Iran's objective (so far succeeding) with all of this. Since they recognize it AND stated so publicly Iran's objective can be nullified and nullified whenever they want at a time of their choosing.
"I condemn Hamas for sabotaging the attempt of Saudi Arabia to reach a peaceful resolution” to the Palestinian plight.
"I condemn Israel for funneling Qatari money for Hamas"
CIA, Mossad, and Shin Bet should be absolutely flooding the Saudis with intelligence right now. If you can't convince them with facts, dazzle them with bullshite.

All the options I have seen mentioned for clearing tunnels other than physically clearing them with soldiers all seem to forget there are 300 MILES of tunnels under Gaza.

Rep. Tlaib first recklessly parroted, and now defiantly refuses to retract, Hamas disinformation about the tragic explosion at Al-Alhi Baptist Hospital. 1/4

She instead shamelessly repeated the lie yesterday at an anti-Israel rally—even though President Biden, U.S. intel and other independent sources clearly said it wasn’t true. 2/4

We waited for her to acknowlege the facts and take back her statements. @RepRashida’s blatantly false disinformation undermines our President and U.S. policy, and supports Hamas’s terror. 3/4

1,000,000 rabid gopher rats that haven't eaten in three weeks was my suggestion.

quote:If one can find random radar images from the Israelis you'll see that often the "shield" tactic Hamas uses is not putting the rockets exactly at schools or hospitals or whatever they put such between their launch site and target site in the belief that the Israelis fear using artillery on the launch site (short rounds).
The church strike is very close to the hospital (parking lot) strike:
So when they have these malfunctions off the rails (pun intended) those structures are directly and intentionally in the flight path.
They do their best to have plane spotters, in-air and at runways, to move their launchers as soon as they detect approach of air power. So having something on station is the mmost effective way to hit the launchers from air. Therefore artillery is the preferred way the Israelis strike the launchers themselves. Many of them are truck mounted so that means artillery is more effective in that aspect too.
So that's why their "human shields" aren't exactly at hospitals, schools, etc. but a few blocks behind them to make Israel think twice about using artillery counter-battery.
ANY reports of an Israeli "bomb" or "missile" hitting a structure like that is likely BS. Any report of Israeli artillery hitting such has to be really considered.

They don’t know the history of the Cu Chi tunnels. Except for the ones that have experience or have read history.
I’m kinda tough. But I don know if I have the nuts to crawl into a tunnel with a flashlight and a .45.
The men that will have to go in those tunnels have bigger balls than I could ever grow.
This is jungle. I feel for the folks that are going to have to go from building to building killing these folks.
It’s going to be exponentially worse than Iwo Jima.

And the mid-east has lots of natural gas. Maybe they should start storing it in the tunnels for use next winter.

Nowhere in Gaza is further than a few miles from the sea. Why not pump seawater into the tunnels.

Read a book about them tunnels. Haven't been in one in Vietnam since I read the book.

I know they used them successfully in the iran-iraq war, but that stuff is old and those pilots are all old as well. I imagine any air force with a functional logistical network takes care of all that stuff with minimal losses.

I've had to help evacuate a couple embassies in my day. I'll never understand why, if they can't build the wall further away from the buildings, they don't build the walls higher. So many embassies make it too easy for a handful of thugs to inflict damage with 16th century weapons.
Amen, plus have a field big enough to drop at least 2 birds in at a time.

Huge difference in a strategic bomber flying where very few SAMs can reach with an over built airframe and 8 new engines. It just needs to be able to stay up there, go long distances above enemy air defense and carry a ton of ordnance.

It is probably the biggest knock on Bibi. He kicked it up several notches over the years.
