So turn the other cheek, as a teaching of Jesus, does not apply to either of them. And trying to impose the teachings of Jesus, on either of them, does indeed provoke a negative reaction sometimes resulting in decapitation (among other things).

That won’t be official policy for the IDF and any soldier doing so should be punished.
But that doesn’t mean I would want them to spare Hamas simply because those ducking cowards are hiding behind a bunch of supposed non-combatants.

The US could agree to transport all Palestinians in Gaza to Iran. The Gaza Strip is ceded to Israel permanently. Less people die Iran gets some of their best friends moving in with them.

And if you notice, Hamas goes way out of its way to make it appear so as well, trying to fade into the background of “all Palestinians” or even “all Muslims.”
IMO It falls on Palestinians and maybe even Muslims to make the distinction., publicly and often.

A 3d chess move here would be for Israel to offer to not invade Gaza with ground forces if Saudi Arabia pushed the deal through asap. Bend Iran over and put the bloodshed on another muslim country.

It's not about Israelis being better people.
It's about eliminating a future threat.
If there's no Hamas, they can't decapitate babies in the future.
