Both of the Citizen Eco Drive watches I own are nice watches below your price point. Browse Jomashop.

I wear the SKX009 almost daily.
I wear the Seiko SKX011J1. The rubber band is comes with is a piece of shite. So I went with an all black Nato style strap. Under $300

That watch looks like a wall clock on that dudes? wrist.
It is a 42.5mm diver, and will fit most with a 7" plus wrist fine. Fit does depend on wrist size and shape but most can wear 42mm watches fine.

anyone buy a Torgoen yet?
Pretty much a Chinese catalog fashion watch. Most have low-end Rhonda movements (about $8.00 bought in manufacturing qualities). They are basic workhorse movements but are a single jewel and as the price would suggest considered disposable. Nothing really wrong with them but you can find similar quality watches direct from China for less than $50.

I’ve had a Seiko Samurai for a couple years now with no complaints. Changed the bezel and have 3 or 4 straps that I change out pretty frequently.
eta: buy an automatic and don't let anyone tell you differently. Seiko auto diver's are all over the place for good reason

I paid 375 for my eco drive, 6 years and only adjust it on daylight savings time.

That picture actually looks like a weird photoshop. Unless your wrist as absurdly small, the watch wears fine as it has short lugs.

It's because of the actual lens distortion from so close. Never look at a wrist shot to determine if you like the size of a watch.
