Isn't It Lovely When People Break Into Your Home?

So, I left my house at 8:30PM tonight and returned at about 2:30AM. I noticed all the lights were on, which is odd. I don't normally leave lights on. There was an old sheet I no longer use on the couch.
Strange.
But I do weird things. I picked up the sheet and all the accessories for my XBox fell out onto the floor. Examining the XBox I realized it was completely unplugged.
Oh boy. Someone has been in my house. Motherfrickin' Goldilocks.
Anyway, I notice more things are out of place. See, I really hate when people go through my stuff, so I notice those things.
I called the cops. They came and filed a report.
Then I had to call them again.
See, I didn't get off as lucky as I thought. They found my secret stash of cash (about $300) and took my camera I use for work (about $1,100 with my lenses).
Fortunately, I was sober as a stone at 2:30AM on a Saturday morning.
Still sucks.

I'm not going to sleep and seriously pondering and going to buy a firearm for home defense tomorrow.
It's a weird feeling knowing someone can just walk in your house and go through your stuff.
