Sounds like someone who might know you. Why do you not leave the lights on when you leave? Its always a good idea to do so... First, if no lights are on people know no one is home and second, with lights on, it makes it easier to be seen.

You should live in a gated country club community in a wealthy county. It substantially lowers your chances for this type of thing to happen again.
