Thanks for the history lesson professor. Now do you have anything of substance to add or just more of this nonsense?

Labels are idiotic. Mexicans are a mix between Central Native American tribes and Spanish colonists. Spanish are a mix of Roman (Latin) and Moorish (North African). None of this sh*t matters past the first generation anyway IMO.

You're missing that Hispanic is based on a cultural link and not just racial. Reread your definition. So Hispanics can be black, white, mestizo, or a mix. Less often they're Asian.

So why do doctors ask if we are caucasian, black or hispanic?
That question is asked at many places. How would one be able to answer that question based on the description you have?
If a white guy starts hanging with hispanics and gets all wrapped up in their culture can he then claim to be hispanic on a job interview?

Reread your definition.
The definition indicates that they originate from nearly the dead center of the vicinity that caucasians originate. So why would it matter on the forms filled out in a doctor's office?

In 1984 I took a long driving trip from Germany down into Spain...oddly enough the largest surprise to me was that the people looked like anyone else who was a native European....

If you go back far enough we are all one race. Looking at a color chart covering the world I see a division of large land masses indicating where each currently accepted "race" originates. My curiosity is in why there is a distinction in a race that originated from right square in the middle of the caucasian area and spread into the American continent just like the caucasians did.

they got some dumb people up in here.
Hispanic has nothing to do with whether a person is white. It just means they came from a country in Latin America.
1st clue: Sammy Sosa and Yasiel Puig are black and yet they are also Hispanic.
2nd clue: JJ Barrea and Tiago Splitter are white and yet they are also Hispanic.
Your typical Mexican that most of us are accustomed to are bi-racia but have been that way for generations. They are mestizos which is a mix of native Amerindian and European.

This. I met a Hispanic family at a dinner party. Mom and Dad from Mexico. Both were of Lebanese descent. The father's family had tried to get off at Ellis Island years ago to become American. One of the family members had pink eye so they were barred. The ship's next stop was Mexico where they were able to immigrate.

Doesn't this put "hispanics" right in the middle of the caucasian region?
It depends.......IF the person killed a black person then hispanic caucasian applies but if the person just killed whitey then it's just hispanic.

I think that's correct except that Hispanics can also be from Spain. Latinos means they're from Latin America. Slight difference.

When you hear Asian, do you think Drago from Rocky?

This isn't true. Atheists evolved from monkeys and Christians were lovingly made by God.

They're whiter than Italians.

Somebody has their Spaniards and Sisclians confused.

On most surveys they ask two questions: one about race and one whether you are hispanic or not.
I.e., it is possible to be hispanic and white, or hispanic and black, or hispanic and something else.

Hispanic now basically means Latin American in today's lexicon but yes you are technically correct in the same way that Anglo Saxon only refers to Germanic people who inhabit Britain.
Technically a person from Brazil is not Hispanic. The point being is that although there may be different interpretations of the terms, the commonality is that being Hispanic or Latino is not indicative of your race.
