The one near our house is always packed. It's also really clean and they hire polite high school kids to work there like the old days of fast food. Good experience.
That's what I was thinking, but I assume it's an ownership issue/franchise thing. I go to mine about four times a year and have never had anything that approaches a bad experience or bad food, though it's chicken fingers and fries. Not sure there's a way to mess that up to a large extent.

I won't praise Zax or argue it's better than Canes (although I think Canes, by its nature, can only ever be a half step ahead of Zax/Guthries/etc - only so much you can do).
But, I personally like it for the variety. Salads are tolerable, etc.

I ate at Zaxby's once. It was complete dogshit. How it stayed in business, much less expand, is beyond me.

In all honesty, Zaxby’s is the worst of the ‘chicken fingers’ restaurants. Tiny overcooked dry overaeasoned tenders. Guthries and Foosackly’s are bad too, but Zaxby’s is probably the worst.

Long John Silvers may serve chicken, but they specialize, by definition, in fish. At least they did the last time I ever ate at one, which was probably around 1995.

They all taste like mediocre salty chicken fingers. How someone could eat enough of it to say one is better than the other is beyond me.

I would not say "worst ever". But in a world where every fast food menu is just a giant salt bomb, Zaxby's somehow stands out for seemingly dumping in more salt than anyone else. The few times I had it I was worried I might have a stroke right after.

They have the best fast food salad of all fast food restaurants.
Come to think about it, they have the only grilled chicken large salad. And It's good. I have never ordered anything else from them.

The one in my area is fairly new. Clean with good employees.
If you ask for fries with no salt they will fix them for you.
They have slightly screwed my order up a few times, but other than that all good.

Canes seems to hire better people than Zaxby’s in my experience. The service is a little better. Zaxby’s has a better menu, but the food kinda sucks.

Exactly. I look for Mexican places that offer unusual dishes, but unfortunately my family members stick to the basic Tex / Mex stuff that they've eaten 1000 times before.
