Is whatever said at an AA meeting considered non-incriminating?

Does it fall under the same protection as lawyer/client, doctor/patient, and church confession fall under?
Let’s say someone stands up and confesses of killing someone last night after falling off the wagon.
I’m not a drunk or go to AA meetings.
Just wondering. I’m watching a movie and there was a scene at an AA meeting.

Yeah AA folks are a bunch of tight lipped group, just kidding, , they didn’t end up in AA for having integrity. I would watch what you say, half the people in there are forced to go.

It’s not inadmissible but you can say pretty much anything and not have people judge u cause they done the same stuff that’s kinda the point

Also, I would wager that a cop or two is in attendance for their own reasons. If someome admits to a serious crime, they probably won’t let that go.

People in AA meetings don’t spill the beans like that unless they are slow or crazy. I’ve never heard anyone give details on a specific crime. Some may speak in generalities to outline their behavior while they were at the mercy of alcoholism.

I heard on the little peel off name tag they give you when you arrive at the meeting they list your crimes so you can sit by someone just as bad as you.
