If anyone is funding them, I think we all know who that would be.

I switched to a vape about a year ago. The good thing is it's much much cheaper and I don't smell like cigarettes. The bad thing is that I can vape anywhere. Sneak in a bathroom at a restaurant, hit my vape. Sit at home read a book, hit my vape. Sit on my couch and football, hit my vape.

Ya'll see where I'm going with this? I'm always hitting on the vape.

I'm sure ya'll will turn this into I'm a homo and sucking on other things too, so do with me as you like...

LoneStar and AuStar get it: it's additives (thickener) in street vape kits.

You just see a lot of anecdotes, and a lot of PSAs directed at young people. I wouldn't want to declare vaping safe, but the stuff you've seen is probably just fluff and hand-wringing.

Several people have died from compromised vape cartridges. It’s not just some fluff and hand wringing.

It’s not regulated. And when buying THC cartridges off the street, they’re loading them up with shite like Vitamin E which can destroy your lungs when consumed through vapor.

And as i said before, when it's said and done, and the lawsuits are out the ying yang, vaping will end up being 100x worse than smoking actual cigs

This is an insanely stupid take

Plenty of studies which show that it’s safer in LA to just smoke a pack a day.

I started vaping to quit dipping. I face the same issue though. It's so easy to constantly hit it. I almost pull it out in crazy places like in the hall at work.

I'm quite sure it isn't healthy. I'm also quite sure that dipping isn't healthy for me either. And I'd rather not have a radical resection to have my face disfigured for the rest of my shortened life from dipping.

One day I'll address vaping and quit but I'm fine with it for now. Like others have said, it's mostly people buying street shite that have caused the issues. Buy legit juice and you won't have these particular problems.

While it can't be good for you, I'm pretty confident big tobacco has been involved with some of these studies.

They were starting to out-sell cigarettes

And all the sudden "studies", financed most likely by the cigarette companies, tell us it's really really bad for you

You’re inhaling chemicals into your lungs. What could be wrong about that? Are people really this stupid to think that putting this shite into your lungs on a regular basis won’t have health consequences?

No

We just know the consequences aren’t as bad as those that come from smoking.

Maybe I misinterpreted things, but I thought this was more about the health effects of vaping than about the physical danger of the device. To draw an analogy, if someone asked "how bad is smoking?" I would be thinking about lung disease, not the risk of burning down your house.

It's really not, and I think that's where a lot of the negative publicity is coming from. Regulating drugs is a huge industry, and people are scrambling to get in on the vape regulation game: public health experts, NGOs, etc.

Again, maybe I'm applying my own filter here, but I would tend to think that stuff is on the fringes. I was thinking more about people using a Juul or Vuze, many of whom used to smoke.
