Is turkey considered part of the Middle East or Europe?
It would be gobbled up by either of they had the chance.

Applying the term Middle East to it is a more recent phenomenon. It was historically from a British point of view considered part of the Near East which included the Balkans and Levant. The Middle East was the Caucasus, Iran and Central Asia. Far East was Burma and beyond. ETA: And Western Armenia in Asia as well.
I never knew that. Thanks for the knowledge.

Super technical geographical definition or the current common usage of the word for literally anything else but super technical geography?
You cross the border from Greece or Bulgaria and a lot changes.
Noticeably so.
I wouldn't consider it European in the current common usage.
European Union doesnt either they arent even on the current acceptance list

Its both just like Egypt is part of the Middle East and Africa. Turkey(and Cyprus) is part of Europe and the Middle East

IDK, but they’re a strange people—cocky as shite for no reason, arrogant af compared to other nearby peeps, and can be total douchenozzles, but if you befriend one, they’re your friend for life.

I guess you might say it’s a world to it’s own.
When I hear it’s name I can’t help but think of the old, school days ditty: “They put a Turkey in the Greece to feed the Hungary.”
(But then the US picks up the Czech and always gets E-Gypped.)
