Very nice, but I have not worn a watch since I lost my Ulysse Nardin Maxi Marine at the bottom of the gulf.

I feel naked without my watch. Drives me crazy if I don’t have it on.

Just think, in a few hundred years, technology will allow it to be found and someone will try to consider its history. Pretty cool

Thanks. Now I'm calling into question my whole notion of good design because I agree with you that this is a nice looking watch.

It’s pretty much the coolest ever. Let’s say it’s the 507 of watches.

Does it do anything besides tell time and date?

This seiko is eerily similar all the way up until the price.

It attracts other metrosexual men who care way too much about male fashion accessories

Aqua Lung is old terminology for Scuba. It’s not a bad name when put into context.

Russian U-boat Commander's Watch: (I have one but I don't wear it.)

Watches are supposed to be on straps. I’m not wearing a bracelet for anything, putting a watch on one doesn’t change that.

I've seen people almost lose their watch with leather watch bands on activity/waterproof oriented watches. IMO, they're fine for dress watches, but not diver style. To each their own.

I never understood the point of buying luxury watches.... I couldn't tell the difference between this watch and a Wal-mart watch.

I've got an eco drive that looks very similar. I'm really digging my Garmin.

It is named for the first scuba diving equipment company from back in the 40's. The company was started by Jaques Cousteau. The watches the OP are Blancpain Fifty Fathoms that were sold through his shops. The original Blancpain Fifty Fathoms along with the Rolex Submariner were the first rotating bezel dive watches and most would argue the Fifty Fathoms predated the Submariner.

Blancpain has released quite a few watches in the Fifty Fathoms line, particularly in the last 10 or so years.

I have the current version of the Fifty Fathoms and it is probably my favorite dive watches, most days I prefer it to the Rolex versions (Sub, SD, DSSD).
