If this story is true, that one guy (your friend) is an idiot

Your friend should not have to think of what his attorney can “get him out of” ever….

If true, the P.O. was signaling that he has too much blood on the inside. Your buddy should expedite leakage, asap. He should also be sitting in church, surrounded by 7 nuns when said leakage begins.

Guy on parole and not allowed to drink, but he's hanging out at a bar. Just a matter of time before he fricked up anyways.

Then the cop arrested him for DWI once he moved the car. Don't know how it all turned out, but that was a pretty chickenshit thing for the cop to do.

That cop needs his arse beat. That’s bullshite. I’m sure if your friend refused, the cop would had arrested him for denying a “lawful” command.

In TX, if you’re on probation for no drinking, you’re not allowed in a bar. You can be in a place that’s 51/49 food to alcohol. That’s where he was.

100% believe it. The guy is a straight shooter.

Using a gun on probation too, will this dude ever learn?

A person who made such poor decisions to end up with a probation officer made another poor decision to get violated by said PO? That was certainly unexpected...

Yeah, pretty stupid of him, but I still say it’s entrapment. That PO would magically have his car keyed among other things

Yep. But you have to be a pretty shitty person with no life to purposely entrap someone like that. Just like one of the posts that talked about the cop that gave the guy a dwi for moving the car on the order of the cop. Some people are just assholes.

Ex of mine once worked for Probation & Parole Dept. in Baton Rouge. Half of the probation officers (male and female) were sleeping with the people on probation.

That sounds like an extreme exaggeration. I can envision 2-3% doing it, and with those kind of decisions, they don’t last long.

So some of us were out and about last night and the topic of “run ins” with the law came up. One guy told a story when he was probation and wasn’t allowed to drink. One night he was at a restaurant/bar and his probation officer showed up randomly with other people. The PO offered to buy the guy a drink. The guy accepted and after drinking said drink, the PO said he violated his probation. WTF? The judge accepted the ruling and didn’t throw it out. Granted, the dude was an idiot for drinking, but that should be illegal on the part of the PO

I would bet good money that if you pulled the court transcripts, this is not what happened.

Your buddy is probably a good story teller though.

What crime did your buddy commit to get put on probation?

Public intoxication. Not driving though. He also had to spend a weekend in county jail because he violated probation

So a misdemeanor. Your story is becoming more plausible. Those probation officers seem to be less vetted and carry less accountability on the job.

I would think they have pretty low hiring standards at that level.

Honestly, I think the county encourages their PO’s to try and purposely frick the violators so the county can continue to ring the cash register

That’s fair…but it sounds like he was seated at the bar?

If so, I think the point still stands. The PO might be a dick but this was a forced error on your buddy’s part.
