Why did the bible wait all the way to the last book of the bible to bring up the issue of canine immortality?
Seems way more important of a subject to me.

Old Testament reference to "dog""Dog" was a Hebrew slang word for male homosexual prostitutes. In this case, I things it's more inclusive and means basically immoral people, not literal dogs. So this church is ignorant.

Anyone that uses their position of power or as a leader in a community in anyway to promote bullshite like this is not a christian group that I would want to be associated with.

What generally happens in any such situation like this is you have a few influential leaders of a church who convince what are generally good people(although likely not all that educated) into believing that this kind of foolishness is their righteous path to heaven.

Revelation was an apocalypse writing. Meaning, allegorical and never meant to be taken literally. People, do the research, and stop thinking you 'know' the future. Everything in Revelation is either past, or speculative, but not gospel.

Never take just one Baptist with you fishing. He'll drink all the beer.

A Baptist's favorite religious joke, closely followed by the people who think that they know what will and won't be in Heaven.

Do I get to wear the hat so everyone in heaven knows I had one?

I tried telling my dog that doing it doggy style wouldn't get him to heaven. He wouldn't listen to my advice at all.

There will be no sadness or wants in Heaven. If someone wants their dog there, the dog will be there.

Fact is, lots of dogs are better than lots of people.

I could see Jesus liking my old Yellow Lab. Of course, everyone liked Pete, mostly because he liked everyone. Is he in heaven? Don't know, but if he is, he loves to take a ride in the back of a truck. Hopefully Simon Bar-Jonah has a Silverado and will help me out with Pete and truck rides until I get there. He liked Dairy Queen Ice Cream in a bowl, too. Surely there is a Dairy Queen in Heaven. I am certain the Apostle Paul would like Dairy Queen.

I'm just going to have my body put into one with 8 lbs of ice so in 200 years when they have the ability to bring me back I'm nice and fresh and good to go.
