I grew up with a kid who's dad and step dad ended up being best friends and so did his step mom and mom. They would all hang out together. To him it was normal. But that shite was weird.

I see no reason to be a dick to every one after a divorce. I never had any jealousy or shite like that with my exes future exes.

There may be more going on than what we're reading in that quote but just what I see there I'm pretty impressed. If I ever divorced, I'd prefer my kids' stepdad to be someone I could get along with

Looking at it in a sociological sense-You could argue that to take on another man’s family instead of building your own is a total Beta move. It indulges the hypergamous nature of women and that’s probably not a good long term move. But getting along with everybody for the sake of a kid isn’t cuck per se when you are just looking at it like a baw.
