You’re right that was wrong. It’s 17.8 per 100K. That’s how the stat is generally measured.

I grew up Southern Baptist. Outside of the Sunday School stuff, the one thing that I learned was that we never recognize each other in the liquor store.

Yep, and those little pamphlets were camoflaged as $5 bills. So from a glance, you thought they left you cash but then you finally swing by to pick it up, and on the back it has some profound saying about how much more valuable the message is than cash money. Eternal life vs. paying your car note.
I'm a Christian and fully believe in God, but that practice of not tipping with scam money is wrong on several levels. It was so infuriating. They used them back before the internet was big and I always wondered where they got them from. I guess the church hands them out? What kind of shite is that?

The biggest cheap a-hole I ever met was this hard core cult christian guy who owned the small company I worked for right out of college.
People were embarrassed to go out to eat with him because he was such a horrible tipper.
He would have the admin girl call all around town to see who had the cheapest oil change and then get her to try and talk them down to a lower special price for a christian business owner.
The inside sales people were not allowed to keep any of the sizable commissions on any sales they helped make. He would have someone sneak in the files to get the information needed so he could get the rebates/commissions for himself. He did give one a movie gift card once as a thank you, that we all know someone had given him as a gift.
There was a mentally challenged guy who did the grass cutting and odd jobs around the office building we shared with a few other businesses. One day he decided to call the management company to have him let go because he didn't want to pay for his share of that service anymore. The doctors and others in the offices around us were having none of that crap and got the guy hired back.
Of course he drove a nice BMW, but still claimed his religion was why he was do frugal.
