To each his own but I hate wearing jewelry, I wear my wedding ring and watch. I was gonna get a class ring my senior year but got a new 30-06 instead.

The state of SC is pretty big on rings. You'll SC, Clemson, and Citadel ones for sure.
I didn't realize it wasn't a normal thing until later.
But as an SC and A&M grad no, no one cares about it as much as the Aggies.
But it's not a bad thing. It's a good way to network seeing as how you'll be approached by other Ags when they see one,

Firearms are much better investments than jewelry.

West Point. Ring knockers.

My gay friend bought one on ebay. He said the amount of arse he can pull by just flashing that ring is amazing. It's like Frodo's the one ring, but instead of cool powers, you get dick.

I see them all the time with the new engineers at the chemical plants/refineries.
You see some young queer with a big arse gold ring on his finger when you walk in a plant, and there is about a 98.44% chance he is a freshly graduated Faggie.

sounds like a great reason to not wear it.

Service academy people tend to wear them a good bit. Not sure if more than A&M though.

USMA.
The Corps wants so very badly to be like West Point.

And, yes, they are the only ones that religiously wear their cult prize. I've worked with several aggies and they're obsessed with their "traditions". I've found the women to be far worse than the men.
