logical? an Unequivocal NO

But emotional,, yes

That is what the draw of music is right? I know occasionally people (myself included) like to try to make it a bit logical by arguing Jimi was the best guitarist or Zeppelin had the greatest group of 4 talents etc but it the end music works because of the way it makes us feel. Is anyone really thinking about what it takes for Josh Kiszka to hold a sustained C6 or are they thinking about the way it makes them feel.

I would imagine it was like Elvis back in the 50’s or the Beatles in the 60’s

The lyrics to many of her songs convey the thoughts and emotions that many young women can't otherwise express. It's not that hard to figure out.
LMFAO

You got u a whole Tay Tay playlist on Spotify, dontcha...

I don't listen to her very much. That doesn't mean that I can't understand why other people would like her music.

Same way why I didn't like the music from Tool growing up but I understood why others would enjoy that style.

I understand people liking her music.

I don’t understand the absolute mania of it all, the scope of it. Local news has been yammering about it all damn week. It’s just a damn concert ffs.

Tool has very meaningful.lyics and excellent musicianship, it's music for grown ups.

Swift sings songs for adolescent children, and they're Uber simple. They are not the same.

One is a musical phenom, the other is simply a pop culture icon.

Swift is more of a mass attraction to an icon. It's an event

Bingo. Fin, you may as well link your post here because the downvotes are coming.

What's a topic you've been mass downvoted on despite being 100% right?

There are lots of acts that I never understood how and why they ever even became famous and had people make a big to do over them or especially their talent like Neil Young, Bruce Springfield, or Nirvana, and outside of Elvis, and The Beetles, who really did set the world on fire and made a huge impact on music, I just don’t understand the gushing over artists period because I’m a dude, and that’s a chick thing.

All that said, I seriously attribute this to women just looking for someone to lead so that they can follow because they really don’t know where they’re going and they usually pick attributes or things that simply don’t factor into any rational conclusion for me except maybe it’s just women picking the worst possible candidate to follow because that’s what many of them do, and will continue to do over the course of their lives.

The Beatles' early work was pretty fricking cheeseball pop, but they evolved.

FWIW, so has Taylor Swift.

Or just about all artists.

The difference is Taylor Swift’s best work was early in her career. Her first three albums are actually good. She’s really jumped the shark.

If the football game was men crying about drama...

But it's a violent sport. There are familial and personal connections to the schools

I get moms taking their kids To see Swift. That's very normal

We are still waiting for the re-release of her Debut album so some new country type vault tracks are hopefully in our future.

To her fans she represents a new, honest form of female self-determination. There is a strong social and emotional bond that people feel with her. And in general, when people become super fans or part of the fandom, it’s often because there’s something about the object of that fandom, the public figure or celebrity, that does connect back to their identity in some way.

The total economic impact to host cities is expected to hit $5 billion (around 38 million per city). Those are the kinds of gains you see in an event like a Super Bowl. The thing that is so amazing about the tour, in particular, is that it goes from city to city, and you see the same kind of impact in city after city. You do see it with some other musicians, as well. But this is something that’s on a scale and a consistency that we haven’t really seen before.

This is end stage capitalism collapse of Rome style behavior

In the end stages of Rome poor people would spend all their money supporting their favorite chariot team and the chariot guys got really rich and the poor people stayed poor as the system collapsed around them

If people had hope that they could build something with the 2500 bucks they spend on a Taylor swift ticket they’d go out and start a business or save for a down payment on a house or something like that but as these things are seen as dead ends or unattainable for the “middle” class they spend their money on things to increase their “status” among peers like Taylor swift instagram pics
