I'm looking for a group that does Saturday or Sunday rides. Preferably 15-20mph, not a lot of cafe stops, and up to maybe 60 miles in distance. Is there a cycling group like this in BR?

He said 15-20. River road cyclists don’t go over 5.

I think that you have to be a prospect before you can get your patch.

There is a group that meets at the Blue Oyster Bar on Sundays at noon. Sounds like your sort of party.

Looks like a nerve was struck. You and Biff enjoy your rides both on and off the bike.

Or exercise like a hetero and not by playing in traffic and causing congestion. You know, your choice.

Use the google machine or search on facebook for some clubs or groups.
The baws don't care much around here for people that ride bikes.

Seriously though, BR has to be an extremely dangerous place to ride, no?

Hell no. I ain’t no damn bike short queer. I’m just like you Bubba. I take the pickup out and shoot holes in traffic signs with Earline like baby Jesus intended. Sweat and exercise is for the gays.

It does seem that way. The guys I know that are serious with their riding head up to ride around East Feliciana out on the country roads where there are some slight hills.

That's what I wasn't sure about. I could do a ride in East/West Feliciana but didn't know if there was a group that rode BR and stayed off of the faster roads (River Rd, etc.)

Traffic on River Rd is nearly non-existent on weekends. It really is (relatively) safe to ride on weekends out there.

Good luck and be safe. Ride smartly at all times.

This is true. I run the levee from LSU to L’Auberge and on weekend mornings there are way more cyclists than cars

That’s not the case weekday evenings or mornings.

It's really not and there's a bike trail literally above it on the levee but the 150 lb hardos don't want to have to make any loops or deal with peasants walking so they get in the middle of traffic where's its a 55 mph zone obeying no traffic laws.
