Yep! Darren has a Venge and Thomas has a pretty nice Giant, but most guys out there that have end bikes spend their money on their tri bikes, like myself. My Tri bike is an $8K bike, but I got my Felt AR1 roadie used on eBay for like $1500.
And in all honestly you can just as fast on an aluminum bike like a specialized Allez.

What a coincidence, I ride an early 2000s Allez! I might start coming to the group rides once I can average a little faster pace. I can hold probably 16mph for a 2-3 hour ride without drafting. I just started though, so that'll get better.
