stalled cars on side of road..

This is the one that drives me crazy. In LA they have a broken down abandoned car on the side of the interstate every 1/4 mile. I get tired of it cutting out the radio every minute for "hazzard ahead" alerts.

It's dumb. Can you get the app to not tell you about those? I have messed with it enough.

Don't feel like doing research, at least post a link to some information about the app.

Waze uses Google Maps combined with crowd-sourcing essentially. The more people who use it, the better it is. If I have it open and am stuck in traffic on the interstate, I can put a tag on where I am. Also it monitors your speed so that when someone else maps a route it avoids the areas with traffic to get you to your destination faster.

You can also tag speed-traps, wrecks, etc. and the app will warn you of the danger ahead. Ive avoided a couple of speeding tickets using the app.

How easy is it to report things on waze? Do you have to manually type it in? If so, screw that.

I have only seen others using it, don't have it myself. Seemed awesome with another person in the car reporting everything. Helped a ton in a city like Austin, but I did get tired of hearing about every little hazard. But, if you turn off that notification, I don't see the point of having the app other than the birds eye view of routes that CAD posted.

Its really interesting how certain areas have Waze users all over and other areas that don't. Driving in LA has a good bit but they are here and there. When we went to Disney in June, there were so many waze people that the screen was like a massive waze icon. I had never seen that many users in one area.

For clarification, Im not talking about people in the park. Im meaning Disney area.

Can someone tell me why I should use Waze over Google Maps. I'm used to Google Maps' layout and if it incorporates all of Waze's data, what is my incentive to download and use another Mapping app?

does Google Maps let you know where the police are? Because if not, then that's a big advantage of Waze (if you like to drive a few miles an hour over the speed limit on a long trip).

Still have the screenshot.

No screenshots but the best was the day we had a guy take a couple of shots at an Officer and fled on foot next to I-65. I threw up map chats telling people not to pick up a hitch hiker. The info was gotten out to people in real time in the area where the public needed to know. I wish agencies would actively use the app for wrecks and special needs like that.

I bet not.

I bet he pays attention when he drives.

If I'm in a hurry, I'm up on the wheel. No phone, radio down; all eyes and ears.

Had to drive to OLOL a few weeks ago at 4AM.
Made good time...

Alx knows me, he has seen my car setup. With that being said I average 70k miles a year and have not had a wreck in many years. Knock on wood...
