sorry bra, perspective isn't about comparing things to 40 years ago. its all about relativity to today's market.

Well, then, them little Daihatsu trucks are the small trucks. Happy? The market considers current Tacoma and Colorado "mid-sized" (I'm not making this up) - half-ton trucks are the full sized products, and 3/4 and heavier are heavy/super duty (essentially commercial trucks trimmed for ordinary use).

This thread is starting to get pretty derpy.

I think the OP is mis using terms then, point is, the tacoma and no "full sized" truck which is what he was getting at assuming a f150 (real truck) was mid sized.

This guy gets it.

We need a F250 to tow our 2950# boat.

Errybody knows this.

Heck, even a Tundra pulls a Shuttle.

I seed this on the TV box.

Only if it's a dually. If it's only got four wheels, then it ain't a truck.

You don't wanna be that guy at the hunting camp fire 13 beers in and everybody's ready to throw down and hook up their chevy/ford/dodge trucks and you got taco guy talking about his resale value and how he thinks he's going to put 400k highway miles on the motor never towing anything with more than 2 wheels on it.

So a f350 dually is the same size as a f150, and a 1500 is the same size as a 3500HD? I don't think so

i'm historically a ford truck [man], but i'm keeping my eye on the little 4-banger diesel coming for 2016. 7700 lbs towing in a 2.8 in-line 4?!? i like the GMC Canyon trim. oh and the engine is made in Thailand. wtf?

Brakes and body won't support that much weight. Engines are surpassing the actual trucks

If the Tacoma and Colorado are mid sized trucks, and a Tundra and Silverado are full sized trucks, then what is a compact truck?

Doesn't the label "mid sized" imply that it's in between two sizes? So now that the Ranger is gone and the Colorado has gotten larger, what do we call a compact truck?
