You tell me:

Although the article seems to conclude that it is a mystery and unlikely an indication of strong mob activity, which is odd.

I just tried to write a GCS-esque post about the mafia but I got bored after three sentences. Knowing I had to write at least 20 more was daunting.

No, but if the mafia in cities like New Orleans, Detroit, Philly, etc. is nearly extinct, logic follows that there isn't jack shite in Donaldsonville.
I am not saying bosses live there are anything, but there are several small towns alone the Mississippi River that has had mafia activity. The ties are to New Orleans, but you don't think the Miss River played a role in transporting resources for them?

That was some crazy shite, wonder who they were about to whack?

Didn't someone get whacked in Mandeville about 10 years ago? Found in his car with a gunshot wound to the face?

yes, mafia still around
In KC, Mob is still very active, just less killings(that we know of).
Our bookie in HS, who was an athlete at Saint Louis University, was big time tied to mob scene. His father was one of the big shots. I remember hearing about his father on the news, about possible hits and stuff. Never could tie him to anything.
On the same street i lived in, during my younger life, there were 2 car bombings(mob hits). Then the 3rd and last car bombing was 1 mile down from me, while i was in HS.
The 3rd and last one, was revenge from them blowing the frick out of a guy who was driving on the highway. He was in his car driving home on Interstate 55, and BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOm.
This was the first one, i was 8 years old.
Here was the one on the highway, they detonated it by remote control. He and the car were blown to pieces. They actually had to jig saw puzzle his body to get prints, bone, etc
And from that car bomb, there was the bombing on Reavis Barracks/Mackenzie in St.George

There was a pretty prominent Northshore guy murdered in NO East some years back. Was doing something with property he owned and was shot, no arrests made. Could that be what you're talking about?

The jewish mafia is the strongest, and they enjoy not being called out on mainstream media (owned by them). They sometimes hide behind names like: russian mafia, italian mafia, and others like that.

The U.S. government passed the RICO Act in 1970 and that was the end of their chapter.

Just because someone is italian, has some disposable income, and says "frick" a lot doesn't mean he's la cosa nostra.
But 100% of those guys will drop hints about being "connected". Most are full of shite, some aren't.

I've been in the mafia for about 3 years. What would you like to know?
