You hope that restaurants suffering because of this bullshite is because of government cuts?
It's been reported by many sources. Only the dumbass in the White House states otherwise.
Here you go. From your beloved FOX.
BTW, reservations would not be down because workers were cut because those workers went home to the DC suburbs at the end of the working day.

That’s not affordable for most people
That’s over 4x of the average household income

There’s plenty of homes Im seeing that are very affordable, under $400k
i dont think the economy is necessarily bad, its mainly interest rates and inflation on things like food over last 4 years that have causes issues
but i do find it fricking hilarious that people on this board are so out of touch that they make comments like this or that 350k is middle class now etc.
400k house is affordable now
you need a household income between 100-135 to not exceed the 28% of your monthly gross and the median household in Louisiana is ~58k, in texas its ~77k but hey....the OT says 400k house is affordable at 6.5% interest

Penrod defending the boomers by saying he only made 40K and his 2500 sad house cost 65K might be one of the dumbest posts of the year

That's almost a 3k/month mortgage payment

I agree it’s not affordable for the average person, but in all seriousness, this board is probably majority college educated and probably has average household income above the average. So that alters their view on things.

no it used to be
I would say not it less than 50% are college educated and very much is blue collar on here, becoming more and more every year
but doesnt matter, the point is people, college educated or not, are terrible with math and statistics. its not hard to look up median pay, median household etc
we get into this shite every time there is a trades vs going to college and dumbasses equate....knowing a guy who went on to own a business to tradesmen make more than white collar college educated people.
its asinine that people think a monthly mortgage payment of close to $3k is affordable for most families. Is it really that hard for posters to run the numbers really quick and realize median household in LA is less than $60k to realize....hey maybe a 400k house isnt affordable.
am I really asking that much? Im not asking them to be able to breakdown how much of the payment is towards insurance, interest etc....simple quick dirty google search. I mean frick just dont post stupid shite is all we are asking...think a little before posting. not that hard

I can easily afford a $400k house. It takes the intellect of about a 5 year old to understand that I make more money than the average person and they cannot. It’s shocking how hard of a time some people have with that

exactly. my house is worth a tad more than 400k but frick its not hard to understand my household income is anything but median
not asking a lot, just a tad bit of self awareness to understand what median household income is in your state or even the country and what that allows them to afford using the 28% rule.
i dunno maybe we are asking way way too much mingo

Probably the heat. Things will pick up soon.

Construction projects are pretty slow in my area. Not dead but a good bit are either on hold waiting for clarity (interest rates) or they are undergoing some significant VE.
That said, our manufacturing arm is still very healthy.

So turns out a several months in that tariffs are still a terrible idea.
You must have missed that 26% inflation under Biden. You probably believed it was transitory.
Gas is also cheaper than under Biden and it drives the cost of everything.

My household income is over 300k and I scoff at the idea of building in the current economy. I can see construction slowing down big time outside of 1,800 sqft DR horton style homes.

I’ve been told time and time again by this board that young folks would never consider these and want 3k sq ft minimum so how could this be so?

Want and able to afford are very different things.

You called for Boomers to be euthanized in another thread, so I'm not sure why anyone would ever listen to your opinion.

It was very clearly not serious, and for the record I said “many of them” so I, in fact, did not call for boomers as a whole to be euthanized

I didnt say you said all. I just said you called for Boomers to be euthanized. I'm glad your sticking point on it, is that you said "many" of them, instead of all. What a freaking clown.
