North of I-12 and Airline, No its not safe.
South of I-12 and Airline, Yes it is safe.
Costco is south of both, so yes, but it is boarder lineish.

It’s a membership club store that is always crowded. It would take a lot for me to say they aren’t relatively safe. If late, pay attention to surroundings I guess, but that’s any parking lot.
What exactly do you think will pop off?

The question was overall safety, not a relative to BR safety
Safe in any city, but don’t be deceived, crime can happen anywhere, yet you can’t live your life living in a constant state of fear. Well, I guess you can, but that’s not living.

There are plenty of areas in the BR to be concerned over your wife shopping by herself, but Costco isn’t really one of them.
That area doesn't bother me much. Hell, we don't live that far from there.

I don’t think it’s in a bad area at all. Like others have said, there are way worse places it could be.

Where would you rather your wife and kids shop when you're not with them -- Costco Baton rouge or Sams in Denham Springs?

Well from the early responses it would appear that I'm wrong.

You're short about 10 miles south for the war zone that is BR-raq of the north

Costco is fine.
Target SL is more sketch than Costco

A couple bad dudes once followed My wife and kids but they got the manager to walk them to the car and it was later confirmed they were sex traffickers! She made sure to share the experience on Facebook

Do you really tell your wife where she can shop?

Refresh my memory on the recent events that have gone down at the BR Costco that are giving you these feelings?

I mean, its not far from where the BLM rep killed the cops a few years ago, but other than that....

It’s a safe area but I would not shop anywhere at night. No where in this city

It’s fine, but if you haven’t figured out yet that you gotta have your head on a swivel ANYWHERE in EBR Parish as darkness descends you best wake up.
