Interestingly enough, the Swamp is damn near equidistant to Vaught Hemingway and Tiger Stadium as the crow flies.
Measuring on Google Maps from the 50-yardline and middle of each field yields:
- 530.98 mi from the Swamp to Tiger Stadium
- 531.94 mi from the Swamp to Vaught Hemingway
This thread can return to normal now.

As part of the football coach thing I was looking at the current roster for the LSU BOS and all the JBE appointees stick out like a sore thumb. It's going to take years for them to cycle off completely. JBE was a disaster for LSU.

While Tate sounded reasonable and moderate with public comments, behind the scenes he was pushing DEI hard in admissions
Tate pushed and got LSU to go to a test-optional admissions policy. Now you let people in who have no business being at the state’s flagship University. His end goal was to merge LSU and Southern.

Pretty bad … we’ve given up our season tickets a couple years ago.
We used to go out to tailgate with friends and make a few games, but that’s dwindled down to 1 game.
Compared to Oxford, Tuscaloosa, Starkville, Fayetteville Auburn etc which have really grown or changed for the better, it’s sad … I get Baton Rouge isn’t a “college town,” but Tuscaloosa was a dump 20 years ago. Go check it out now…Auburn was a cow town 10 years ago, go check out Auburn-Opelika now …, go check out Knoxville’s downtown and Market Square, go check out the Cotton District in Starkville…
Baton Rouge is the shithole that’s changed for the worse and it’s creeped all over the campus. It’s pathetic.

It's definitely gone down hill recently in the last 5 years, but luckily there's still plenty of time to course correct and fix things. I already saw huge improvements for the A&M game.
We need to focus on enrolling students based on merit and less on demographic quotas, which includes requiring standardized testing.
We also need to attract students who will help increase our endowment in the long run (private school kids, kids from affluent areas and out-of-state kids), but with an emphasis on keeping Louisiana's best and brightest home.
Then, clean up the area north of campus, as well as Tigerland, and LSU should thrive.

Plantation trace was called Plantation Trash back in the 90's.
The South Carolina game was the most ghetto I have ever seen LSU's campus by far

It's extremely frustrating as a Texan and LSU alum that there are at least six colleges in Texas I would push my kid to go to over LSU, and many more across the region. LSU is like my 25th choice for them, sadly.

It was astoundingly ghetto. I was legitimately saddened.
I wouldn't call it ghetto but I didn't see a single white person driving from the north gate on highland to the south gate until I drove down Sorority Row a few weeks ago. The demographics have definitely changed.
