The episode with Marshawn Lynch is entertaining.

Pretty good webpage here that compiles updates on the bars rescued: https://www.barrescueupdates.com/p/all-bar-rescue-updates.html

Can’t wait for personal injury attorney firm rescue hosted by Gordon McKernan

Part of that was because of douche owner and bar

It’s an entertainment show, not a documentary.

That whole episode was an instant classic. If you get into owning a bar just to drink free and cosplay, you're likely to end up failing. The lesson here is you can have fun running a business but you have to remember that it's a business first and a place for you to have happy-fun-time second.

The improvements are basically bullet points at this point
1. Clean the place more
2. Simplify the menu with fresh ingredients
3. modernize the decor
Rinse and repeat
this ^^^^^^^
the things they do will and can work for most places
but at the end of the day it has to bring in customers and tappers high priced specialty drinks and whatnot only drive off the regulars that keep a place going
i know they "claim" 60% long term sucess rates but i think its more like maybe 40%

My favorite is when he brings his New York mixologists into some white trash county line bar and makes them try to teach Mandi and Codi behind the bar how to make craft cocktails. But, for a show that’s meant for hungover binge watching on Saturday mornings, I give it a 10/10.

This is the dichotomy. Taffer would say it's the barfly regulars that run off new customers. Price them out and bring in higher paying customers. Those regulars aren't keeping the place in business, the business is losing money every month. So, to say those regulars are keeping the place going is false.

I always laughed at this part too. This is Axel Blade, world renowned mixologist from NYC. Won bartender of the year in 2017 at Manhattan Club Slippery Martinis.
I'm going to teach you this craft cocktail...umm our customers barely have teeth.

Pretty sure the owners know going in what’s going to happen - and if they put up with it, they’ll get some free shite and a fresh coat of paint.
(1) His spies will go in and get shitty food and / or service, caught on surveillance cameras everyone knows are there; (2) He’ll come in and yell at everybody and say how disgusting the kitchen is; (3) He’ll make the staff pull an all-nighter to clean shite up, or he’ll walk; (4) His bartender and chef guests will drop some knowledge on the staff; (4) He’ll set up a soft opening where 60-70 folks will come in all at once, and of course, everything will be f*cked up; (5) He’ll “SHUT IT DOWN!!!” (6) He’ll knock out the reno and bring in a lot of new gear, always with a POS and chilled beer lines; (7) Second soft opening is huge success - hugs and peace-out.

Yep.
Jinjer, a band the Music Board shows a lot of love, is performing there this coming Thursday.

I remember when he did Spirits on bourbon street he had created a light up souvenir cup for some obnoxious blue cocktail they were serving as their signature drink. I went shortly after the episode and the owner said those cups were way to expensive to keep ordering and they were only for the show lol

Yes. I also like when they have to teach them how to pour like just a regular vodka soda.
Actually looking forward to the new show with Taffer and Robert Irvine. Got to meet Irvine and his wife a couple of months ago. He’s a genuine dude. Taffer seems like his show is way more set up so interested to see how the new show with them plays out. Just mindless entertainment at the end of the day.
