(laughing emoji) what a joke! Hey, let’s compare the richest, most privileged kids in Baton Rouge to public school students that may have special needs or come from poverty. Ignorance is bliss.
Uhh...sorry your kids are dumb?

Nothing wrong with posting that picture and a school being proud of their test scores. I assume those state and national averages also include other private schools. The Zachary coach sounds like he got his feelings hurt and decided to act like one of his students with a knee jerk reaction for the world to see.

It’s not just the school that has better teachers, better curricula, cleaner facilities, dedicated admin (no unionized workforce), etc. it’s the whole environment full of kids from families that want their kids to learn. Parents are there to support the efforts. Discipline is not much of a problem and your kid is not surrounded by kids that are there because of compulsory education laws. Does is cost? Yes. Are there lots of snobs? Sure. So what?

2nd coach is correct in the school comparing itself to public schools. And especially La HS
He should of compared their scores vs La private schools and vs Private schools around the country.
It would be like SLUH/Country Day here in St.Louis going after the City public schools, while ducking all of the Private/catholic schools in st.louis and some of the really good Public schools in the County.
Compare vs your equals.

The way society is evolving Private Schools are headed for the same treatment that Fraternities are treated. They will be stigmatized in 20 years.

Dude back off on your obsession with this guy's kid's school from 13 years ago.
You trying to add another place to scope out young kids or something??

Wrong on so many levels. Son plays football and is in the top half of Catholic in grades and ACT score. Wish that people would STOP acting like Catholic is a rich school, cause it has so much more.

They should be higher, they hand pick their students

Fetita should reply...
"It is a sign of laziness to attribute academic success to a child's background rather than take responsibility for our duty to educate. Setting limitations on these kids based on their background is dangerously counterproductive.
It is our belief at Catholic that kids from all backgrounds are capable of achieving high test scores.

Is it wrong for Lexus to point out the many benefits you get for investing in their product, which is much more expensive than a 10k car that will get you to the same place at the same speed? Answer one and you will answer the other.
It's more like saying Lexus is better than Toyota without acknowledging that Lexus is using better parts than Toyota. In other words, Lexus is better than Toyota, no denying that, but if those same parts were in a Toyota, they'd be just as good.
The CHS coach isn't wrong, but neither is the Zachary coach.

Catholic has every right to be proud of their stats, but to compare them to any public school is about as "apples to oranges" as it gets.
They're not though. LA average scores and national average scores will include both public and private scores. Unless you believe CHS is the only private school in the country...

What is the point of private schools if not to generate better scores like this? Not sure why the public school guy is butt hurt here.
Posted on 2/3/20 at 3:19 pm to AUin02
The only "problem" I'd have with the CHS tweet is what conclusion is he trying to draw? Causation vs correlation is important here.
I think it's quite naïve to believe the school is responsible for the bulk of those high scores. I went to a parochial school and I'd say the same about it or LSMSA. I don't believe my ACT score had much to do with the school I attended.

So Lexus should state this in every commercial or they are insensitive to the people who can't afford a Lexus? That is fricking stupid and you know it.
The guy complaining is an attention seeking disingenuous douchebag for pointing it out. Plain and simple. It was a simple way to show the value of investing more than most on your kids' education. Person who posted it was doing the school a solid until someone had to make it as if the kids and parents at CHS have anything at all to do with the trash that goes to other schools.
My kids go to public school fwiw

Special needs kids don't take the ACT.
