Is it worth getting midsized pickup like the Colorado/Canyon?

It's just hard for me to get past the part where it's smaller and the Silverado/Sierra isn't much more in total cost.

my 2012 canyon with 5 cyclinder and 4 wheel drive suits me well. For an old guy right height is important

Maybe if you’re a tiny little fella

If you have a full size truck you won’t like how small “mid size” feels

My next truck will probably be a midsize.

I had an '04 Colorado that I bought new off of the lot.
It lasted me 13 years and 800 miles shy of 300K.
I loved that truck.

You can predict other’s thoughts and feelings?

I have a 2024 Colorado. I also have a 2016 Colorado with 320k miles on it. The 2016 Colorado with the V6 still drives better than the 2024

The new canyon at4 is sharp!

Mine had the in-line 5 Cylinder. Great engine.

Serial downvoter, if you hate trucks and America, you'll downvote this post.

Get a Tacoma if you’re thinking mid sized. You’ll never need to own another vehicle

The new generation of Colorado/Canyon is comparable in size & capability to the full sized trucks in ‘80’s & early ‘90’s, and with similar features to the new full sized GM trucks. Not everyone needs 1500 series trucks. If you need 2500/3500 series trucks then certainly not…

If you’re gonna go midsize, get a Frontier

Any issues with the 24 so far?
I have an 06 Silverado but i was just looking around for something newer. Odds are ill still keep the Silverado if I end up getting a Colorado just because I love those GMT 800s.

Thanks for proving you're a truck hating, anti-American commie fig, serial downvoter.

I like the frontier for mid size. Still has a 6.

I went from a 2019 Sierra to a 2024 Canyon. The trade-in offer for my Sierra was hard to pass up and replacement with a smaller, more maneuverable Canyon was something I was looking for.
The price difference may have tightened a bit, but without incentives the cost of a Canyon AT4 vs a Sierra AT4 was still +$20k. Hardly insignificant.
The most notable difference is interior space. You can still fit adults in the back, but it’s obviously much tighter. But more noticeable is just the lack of any storage or general open space.
The TurboMax 4cyl is solid, but sounds like a 4cyl. It still has great towing capacity and general acceleration (past some turbo lag), but you know it’s a 4 cylinder.
Gas mileage is a general disappointment. It’s only slightly better than my V8 Sierra (mostly highway). I average 21-22 mpg with mostly highway driving.

I never understood how a half a truck cost as much and got the same or just ever so slightly better fuel mileage as a full size truck. Just assume get a full size and have it when I need it. Even if it's rarely.
I use my 3/4 ton as a work vehicle pretty often so a small size truck doesn't have a utility to me. But if I wanted a snaller vehicle to drive periodically a taco would be my choice.

I just bought a 2025 GMC Canyon AT4. Love the size and it’s easier to park. It’s a good fit for me, I don’t need a full sized for towing etc. Gas mileage is better too
