I didn't directly work with this guy but his start time was roughly 30 minutes before he started (say punch in at 6 am but don't start work until 6:30) and this was done more as a way to fix any issues from the night before. After a while he just started sleeping for those 30 minutes. His boss said he can't sleep on the clock and the dude argued with him about it. So about a week later the guy shows up to work 2 hours early and proceeds to take a 90 minute nap.... punch in and go to work. Next day he tried the same boss fired him. Some other things had been happening and this was just the straw that broke the camel's back.

Not on the clock yet and not in public eye or vendor’s line of sight? Then who gives a shite.

Ain’t no worse than taking a 30 minute dump on company time.

If it’s ‘Unprofessional’ to close my office door and kick my Allen Edmonds up on my old world oak telluride executive and take a power nap, then call me unprofessional.

You can’t have people sleeping around the office. It’s a place of business

I feel like a 30 minute nap at my desk first thing in the morning would make me feel like a zombie for most of the day.

Here’s a novel idea. How about just getting started on work if you are at the desk?

I've never been a 20-30 minute nap person. If I can't sleep at least 2 hours I won't bother.

Who gives a frick... He’s being responsible by leaving early to make sure something crazy doesn’t happen on the commute to make him late. If he gets his shite done and isn’t sleeping on company time or in sight of clients you should shut up and worry about yourself. I bet you are one of those little bitches wandering the halls for 2 hours a day chit chatting while he’s working.

Traffic.
Leaving home 30 minutes earlier here means saving 60 minutes in traffic. Not everyone works in Monroe

Home office so I have a sofa in the room as well. it calls my name after lunch every day.

A guy in Houston who I partner a lot of deals with has bad sleep apnea so sleeps only a few hours at night. He dozes at his desk several times a day.

Define “getting your work done”. Coming in at 7:50, even though you say you get there at 7:30, and “work through lunch” so you can leave at three? Spending 3/4 of that time shooting the bull and complaining? That’s what I see and I’m not nearly a boomer.
