Meh, they were so mad with me when I bought my wife's Prius that they didn't give me the box of sausage. I did get a very good deal though

Robertson? That guy is a doofus.

Guidry? I'd give him my business.

Research the cars value and Decide beforehand what the vehicle is worth to you. If they can meet it--buy it.

It's stupid to just see how much they come off to feel like you got a "good deal".

I can...then again, my local Toyota dealership is owned by one of my childhood friend's family. He will show me what he paid for it, and we will come to an agreement on a little above that.

They were coming off on Venza's pretty good. Solid car, basically a Camry wagon.

I've haggled a good deal on a Toyota but the last time was 2006. In my experience Honda dealers are the ones who are bastards about not cutting any slack.

About a year and a half ago, we bought a 2015 Highlander XLE. They came off $5,000. Deal with multiple people online.

ETA: purchased at All Star in BR. Price Leblanc wouldn't deal

And to put a word in about Houston vs Louisiana dealers...we are very similar in pricing with Houston. I can count on one hand how many deals I've lost to Houston in the last 4 years.

This, twice in my life looking at Hondas and twice it was the same thing. When the two door Accords came out with the new body style in 1998 and then the new Pilots last year. Same dealer experence. "Oh you want that car, we have one, just one, it's right there, hold on I'll get the keys. Oh it's already sold, come back in two weeks. "

They do seem to have smaller lots than other dealerships, I wonder if that is just their structure, on the flip side Nissan has tons of every vehicle like a domestic dealer.

Completely wrong. Toyota can move a lot on price. Have bought two cars from them and got them to come down massively off sticker

Bought at price Leblanc and lakeside. Leblanc was worse to deal with and took a lot of effort to get hat we wanted. Lakeside was less strenuous. Just go in with what you want and what's reasonable to pay. Use true car sales listings to back it up.

Yes and one of the salesmen there at Team M. B. is I believe an active poster here. That being said, they came down about four grand off my Tundra two years ago. They played good cop, bad cop with the sales manager, and the regular rigmarole about how they couldn't drop things anymore, but they did come down substantially when presented with prices on nearly identical Tundras from other dealers I had collected.
Then I went to the F & I guy. Watch your wallet there too. They can get back everything you bargained so hard for if you're not careful. I had a trick or two up my sleeve and walked out happy. Him not so much. Never let them know how your gonna pay till it's over.

With Honda...if its a new Body Style, then yes inventory is scarce. Right now, the new Pilots are a prime example. I just traded one with a Houston dealer because no one from Houston to Baton Rouge had the model the customer was looking for.

Trucks and SUV's not much but a little. On cars, quite a bit more.

MSRP is a fictitious number.

If you have an Indian (dot) friend, be sure to bring them with you. They'll grind the salesman down into fine dust.
