This question stems off of the airport thread earlier today. Everyone is appalled when people wear flip flops to the airport, and I DGAF either way but its interesting why theyre acceptable some places and not others.

Probably not anywhere you go. I mean McDs and Dollar General don't have ant established dress code except for a shirt and some kind of footwear. You might Cane's a call when you take your bitch out for a formal birthday dinner though.

I wear nice leather flip-flops as much as I can. However, I've started to wear closed toe shoes if it is likely that I'll have to use a public restroom. In an airport, it's almost a certainty. That little drop splatter from a urinal is disgusting.

You only live once as far as I know so to each their own. Do men’s feet gross me out? Absolutely, but I don’t have to answer for how anyone other than I live my life, so I try not to judge. I do my best to not look in that direction. The benefit is women wear them too, and that can automatically keep me from wasting time being interested in a woman that turns out to have ugly feet.

It's probably subjective. Unless going somewhere requiring I dress nice, I wear flip flops everywhere.

Started during 18 months of work from home during covid. I wear flip flops a lot. Of course not to work or out to eat or anything, but grocery stores, friends houses, etc is almost a given.

I wear them everywhere, all over the country.
But not if I'm going on a plane.

I live in a southern, coastal city..and I work from home. I wear them a lot: mid day walk around the block, pick my kids up from school.... Going to casual meal. But there is a limit. Not too church, not on date night etc. I find it funny the amount of "bros" that wear them every where but I have discovered that 42/43 degrees is limit

If you are wearing them with khaki shorts and a polo or fishing shirt it is acceptable (I guess) but any other time it’s trashy and even if you wear what I said above it’s still probably pretty trashy
