It's actually trashy to show up with a gift to a wedding, because you were too lazy and forgot to order something ahead of time and have it shipped to their house. It's not like the Bride and Groom are going to just throw all the gifts in their car (if they will even fit) and drive off with them after the reception. No, someone else has to take the gifts from the reception. Lots of times, the bride and groom don't live in the same location that they are married, so they'll have to load their car up with all the gifts and bring them back home at a later time.

It's trashy not to get a gift. It's better if you have it sent before, vs bringing it to the wedding. Or bring a card with money.

Yep. When I got my gifts at my wedding, I took a wheelbarrow and threw them in a firepit and burnt em.

Most couples have registries and you have that shite shipped to the couple's address, which is already given as an option.
