You may run into a former co worker, potential business client, potential employer, etc. Do you really want to present yourself like a teenager who can’t wake up before 9am??? YOURE 30!!!!! GROW UP!
Save this Leave It To Beaver-arse advice for someone born before 1970.
Enjoy this echo chamber of a board though, hope you won't be too angry the next time you see someone traveling in comfort.

frick off.
Someone else gets me to where I’m going at 6am and more sleep?
I’m wearing my lulu stretch pants with an oversized hoodie and you can’t stop me.

Sounds like OP wants me in a three-piece and a pince-nez just in case I run into a “former co-worker”

You actually wrote this:
The average flier to me is Joe Blow who is dressed appropriately to their standards and not someone elses. I have flown hundreds of times and flown next to smelly and very trashy people maybe 4-5 times. Not enough for me to make a rant and worry about it everytime I enter an airport. Like I said, I have bigger fish to fry in my life than to worry about someone wearing shorts in a public place LOL.

It’s these types of threads that reveal how old the average user on this board is
Or how out of touch most of them are. I am 61. I'm not offended by the jogger wearing or legging wearing folks. In fact, unless I am headed to a business meeting and won't have time to change, I'm wearing leggings and an oversized t shirt. I'm not a fan of butt cracks or midriffs showing on a plane or other tiny clothes, but it doesn't affect my flight, so I just put in my airpods and ignore it.
Everyone who says put on a paid of jeans is clueless. My 30 something kids would never wear jeans on a plane. Jeans are for going out. They will be in joggers and leggings and I won't think they look like horrible slouches. Joggers are the new jeans.

Start noticing what people on those airplane fight videos are wearing. Usually some trashy t-shite or tank type shite.

I remember the days when my parents had me put on a jacket and tie to board an aircraft. But back then the pilots were all former military, they served hot meals, and the stewardesses were all young, classy and pretty. Nowadays . . . .
I am not going to put out the effort if nobody else is.

No Young Fella.
I grew up with women who looked good in a dress. They also did their nails, curled their hair and applied a mild shade of make up.
Much better than these silicon arse injected, silicon lips, cut up faces , tatted up and wearing tights.
You don’t what a real woman looks like and bet you never smelled one.

Oh since we're talking about flying slobs and their attire, let's not forget what they leave behind: Fat Disgusting American Flying Slobs!
That’s terrible and disappointing. I count several large empty sugary drinks littered about. And all in the morning, probably wonder why they’re fat.

I’m sick and tired of seeing these ‘kids’ mellineals in the airport wearing their PJs, bed head, and unshaven. You’re a 30 year old man! Act like it.
Flying used to be a privilege. You’re not working from home today. GET DRESSED!
Have you flown more than once on a family trip to the Grand Canyon? "Flying is a privilege"? While I agree with you most young people dress like shite in general, frick that privilege. It was no "privilege" getting stuck in the Atl airport for 3 fricking days, or the 6 times in'06 they lost my luggage, or the time I was going to Aruba they had "mechanical issues" with my BR flight causing me to miss the only flight to Aruba out of ATL. No, in the 60s and 70s flying may have been a privilege, but today it is a total fricking pain in the arse. THAT COSTS MONEY

So it revolves around the other selfish people who can't bother with common courtesy?
Common courtesy? Selfish? I mentioned good hygiene and “hooker” clothes. Dressing in pajamas for a plane, doesn’t violate either of those.
For some people who claims everybody else is snowflakes ….
Now if an airline wants to enforce a no pajamas dress code, I have no issue.
