it's pretty simple, if you feel your life is being threatened, shoot.

if someone reaches into my car for me, there is a very good chance they're going to get shot

I'm sure this has already been stated, but it depends on a variety of factors: your income, your race, the other person's race, the kind of car you drive, etc.

I don't feel at risk, I just watched a road rage video. Say a dude ran over to your vehicle and started to beat the shite outta you through the window. Can you dump 3 off in his chest?

No. It comes from an area of deadly force self defense law called the castle doctrine. In many jurisdiction the castle doctrine statutes apply to your car as well as your home.

You should probably seek atonement by posting in the white guilt thread.

a car is an extension of your home if you are inside car and protecting car. yes you can't shoot someone breaking into your car if you aren't inside of it.

Better to ask forgiveness than for permission

Maybe when buying a sports car.

I'd rather ask a lawyer "for permission" than ask forgiveness from 12 jurors.

Yes.

I had a guy with a heavy ring on bang on my window in the FQ stuck in traffic... rolled down the window bc he was about to break it. He tried to grab me by the neck. I always have at least one knife on me. Stuck the tip of one in the soft part of his "elbow pit" and the serrated part of another in the meat of his forearm. The car in front of me turned... Told him I was within my rights to hit the accelerator and filet him. He got REALLY apologetic at that point.

The girl in the passenger seat was really quiet for a second... then said "Glad we don't have to clean that up."

Reach with what? A knife? then yeah. If just their fists that's probably illegal

No. Any form of bodily harm threatened. Especially after dark.

If a reasonable person would expect to be harmed, there's no means of escape/retreat, etc. then yes it is legal.
