Just you. Good tap water is about the only thing this town has going for it.

Finally came back in town after a long while and noticed a strong odor at two different restaurants
If it stinks, it’s a restaurant problem, not a BR water problem.
And to the idiots talking about chemical plants, first, they don’t pull water from the aquifer for their cooling water. A few might do that a little, but that has no affect on the quality of the water you would drink. And that would be extremely expensive for them. And secondly, maybe learn about where the water that goes into the aquifer comes from, b/c it ain’t Baton Rouge.

Only if you bring it outside in a glass will it stink.

My wife certainly claims it’s nasty. No proof to back this up, but she figures everything else in this state is dirty so why not the water.

I always knew it as egg water, because of the smell.

I am not ducking with u. In the early 90s there was a convention or something involving a ton of geologists and hydrologists and people who deal with drinking water in BR and one of my buddies who was a geologist for the state of florida that protects their water supply was there and we all went to lunch and they all ordered bottled water which was unusual back then.
I ask them why as Baton Rouge had just installed a state of the art 7 later osmosis water filteration system etc, and they said yeah but did you have that in the 60s to the 80s and their is no way to get all the shite out of the water now no matter what anyone says

All restaurant water tastes weird, it’s because the cups aren’t that clean.

People talking about the plants are complaining about them depleting the aquifer and causing saltwater intrusion, not that they are actually doing anything to the water itself by extracting it.

Something is wrong with your pipes/water heater/screen/etc.

We have a metric frick ton of issues in this city, drinking water is not one of them, quite the opposite.

You have to be drunk. My relatives lived in NE Indiana, and the water smelled like volcanic eggs because of the sulphur content. Baton Rouge has never, ever, approached anything like what I smelled up there.
You also have to discount anything a woman says about smells.

Except they aren’t using city water for their cooling water. That’s really expensive. They use river water more often than not.

If there is one thing good you can say about BR its the water.
