The Nashville Zoo isnt great, but it does have an area you can go in and hang out and pet kangaroos, and that is freakin awesome, so the OP can suck it.

Memphis has the top ranked zoo in the country.
We have a family membership and go all the time. When the weather is nice, I’ll grab a sub and eat it at the zoo for lunch.

Lafayette, baton rouge, etc..... well, even then not really. If you want to go to a good too....plan a vacation around the college world series and go to the Henry doorley zoo in omaha while you're there. I grew up in that area and I promise you won't wind a better too in this country.
