By bad, I mean 150-160 ranked. I’m looking at attending a part-time program. It’s the only one near me that’s ranked near that. It’s the only option. They have about a 65-70% bar pass rate. Not ideal but best option for me right now.

This will go exactly as you’re wanting it to go. I’ll be on the sidelines watching.

I know a couple friends that went to Southern Law.

None have a job as a lawyer though.

So TTFWIW.

Once you graduate from law school (and pass the bar), you're a lawyer. No one tends to give a shite where you went.

I've worked with Harvard Law grads, and grads from law schools that rank even lower than LSU, all of whom were very smart and successful in their chosen fields.

Ranking is really only important for the Top 5-10 law schools. After that, it's more about the connections you can make during your 3 years.

Absolutely.

You have to look at worldwide rankings and when you consider places like Somalia, Yemen and North Korea have law schools, being a graduate of the #150-175 ranked law school on the entire planet is one hell of an accomplishment.

I know two Judges who went to Southern. So there is that. No one gives a shite where you went once you pass the Bar. Unless you are working at some giant New York firm where that is the topic of discussion at Happy Hour.

There are no “bad” law schools just like there are no “bad” medical schools. Just good law schools and better law schools. If you can get in to any law school you are in the top ten percent of intelligence among the general public.

Not really. It all depends on who you know once you get your degree.
