I don't do any of those things because I'm "scared".

I was genuinely asking. 1.2 is a pretty small percentage. I don't think the majority of the populous is responsible enough to carry. I wouldn't trust the vast majority of people with a gun around me.

It doesn't bother me to carry, and people are, as a whole, stupid assholes (or criminals). I don't trust basically anyone, because they're all in it for themselves

I don’t know. Personal discretion?

Why is there a line between carrying a gun and all the others when it comes to preparing vs scared?

Besides the obvious with the seatbelt for instance being required by law.

I'm more afraid of someone in a crowd of people trying to play hero and hitting bystanders than I am of others trying to harm me. I keep a gun in my vehicle, but I also work in a somewhat bad area. I just dont trust every Joe Blow that can pass the conceal class to be able to shoot accurately under pressure.

But to answer the OPs question, I dont think daily concealed carry is necessarily an acceptance of a pessimistic view. But it probably is for some people.

The likelihood that either will be needed. You're much more likely to need a seat belt than you are a gun.

That doesn’t mean you’ll never need one in the worst way.

Right, you do it to mitigate risk which is what people do when they carry. It's not "fear"

This is very poor logic though. There are things riskier than car accidents so why wear seat belts?

Again other than legality.

As I said earlier, I don't trust the majority of people with guns. Most of the other things that people do to mitigate risks can't/won't cause harm to other innocent people. Locking my door, having insurance, and wearing a seat belt won't hurt me or anyone else.

Most people that CC don't want you to know they are carrying. My gf doesn't know I do most of the time. I don't pull it out or brag about it. It is concealed, that's the whole point

Maybe. But speaking for myself, I'd rather carry a small concealed handgun for self defense than a seatbelt- and I've been saved by a seatbelt before.

I’ll take my chances of getting accidentally caught in the crossfire by a good guy than having the bad guy deliberately aim at me.

Like you said, it’s much less risky than car accidents so the accidental crossfire is even smaller of a risk.

A gun is like a parachute. Very seldom will one need a parachute, but when one does, one needs it pretty damn badly and near to hand.
