I keep hoping it will fall off of the first page, but it keeps staying around. It's like a car wreck that I can't look away from.

If you'd like to join the conversation now, we're discussing whether or not I used the term "gun nut" in a derogatory manner, even after I explicitly stated that I didn't mean it in that manner.

Texas laws are lighter than Louisiana laws. They don’t give two fricks. I might move there.

He's been getting destroyed, but he's too proud to admit defeat. I don't know why some people will talk so much about a topic that they clearly don't understand. I'm guessing it's just pride, arrogance, and stupidity.

Boredom?

I also think it’s funny that you believe you won some mythical online battle here.

So what are your reasons behind the decision to carry or not carry daily?

I started carrying recently. Ultimately it’s come down to how I feel about humanity. It’s a sad reality, but it is a reality. I live in one major Texas city and travel to another major Texas city every week for work. I’m in and around very busy and populated areas. Anything can happen. I’ve always been very aware of my surrounding and the situations I put myself in, now I have the protection on my side if ever needed. That said, I pray that I never have to use my firearm in a situation like this, but I won’t think twice if I have to.

only if you abide by the laws of that state. So I hope you read up on the laws in the state you wish to carry in. I didn't mean to make you look stupid. People just need to learn the rules and not just listen to what people think they know.

How do you know you'll be cool under pressure and make sound decisions when you have to fire?

Really pretty simple for this ole man. While I do not carry in the immediate neighborhood, probably a mistake, I never get in the car without the 9mm clipped to the console at the knee. If ever used & asked, “why did you have a gun with you”, the reply is simple, “I read & view the news”. Not a pessimistic view, just reality.

For those so inclined, I encourage regular training/practice & please, clean your weapon :-)

I carry 100% of the time that I'm not at work or working out. No one I'm around knows I'm carrying and have carried for years. Concealed means concealed. I'm not the Rambo type, I'm a fairly large guy so no one really messes with me anyway.

I was just in the Petco tonight working with my dog to get some training. A guy walked up started talking about the shooting last night in front of the Winn Dixie next door. The world is an uncertain place. I have life insurance, Home insurance, car insurance and I have fire extinguishers all over the place. I do this because I have a responsibility to protect my family and I feel like carrying is just a natural extension of that. I Hope and pray that I never have to draw my pistol or ever need it.

So if you carry you know you'll be cool in a gun battle? Interesting.
