You must have the wrong person. Canes is terrible and I am very surprised it has stayed open as long as it has since we have like 10 better options for chicken. Hilarious thing is it was voted best fried chicken in lafayette.

Opelousas is pretty much a town's version of a Northside. Plus, it is home to one of the higher poverty rates in the entire state.
As for Corner Bar, it's a decent hangout spot when you're with a group of people. But I can see where people get the idea that there are "try-hards" that go there.

When I was at LSU my freshman year I lived on Alvin dark next to some good ol Baws from OpeTown in the 3 bd room apt next to us... we all would combine friends and throw down.
