Ah, but what's the back story on where I got it from. Do you let the cat out of the bag right off the bat, or say you got it from wherever the seller says it came from and let it ride?

Go with the seller to a jeweler and make sure it's legit. If it is, you're in the clear. Can say you got it custom made from a friend of a friend in NYC, or something along those lines.

ETA: It's always good to start out your marriage's foundation on lies.

I didn't have to ask to know what the answer is, but thought it was an OT worthy question.

I think what is more important is how the ring looks. It's not like a diamond goes bad.

See, this is what I'm talking about. Total wedding crashers type epiphany when I started seeing some of these girls putting their old engagement rings up for sale. A bunch of the ads say, "less than a year old" etc. and fine AF
This is brilliant and finally a good use for Facebook.

You are marketing it all wrong.

You are buying an old world stone that is vintage. Not a used ring from a dumped soccer mom.

If you can't afford a new ring you shouldn't be getting engaged.

If you already have been married once don't you have a ring to use on the new one?!

It's not a matter of can't afford a new one, but it's a matter of why do you need to spend a shite ton of money on an engagement ring which is a terrible investment and has no bearing on if you'll have a good marriage or not.

Ha, that's not how it works. Otherwise, there wouldn't be so many used engagement and wedding rings for sale on Facebook.

Depending on the deal, most of the cost is in the stone. What about resetting the stones in a new ring?

A lot of judgmental people in this thread. Most probably haven't been on 2 dates much less two marriages. Save the money but if she finds out and pissed say it cost twice what you pay'd for it. Because if she's pissed she's pretty shallow

Smart. How do know about grade of diamond, cut, color, or appraised value of diamond.

Some of the rings show pictures of all the paperwork that came with the ring such as certificate of authenticity, but I guess an appraisal is the only real way to do it.

Asking what is trashy is trashy .... and usually ignorant.

ETA: used ring + used woman = makes sense I guess.

I would get a nice band with a lab diamond. Not too big so not to give it away.
