Hope it isn't engraved with someone else's name
Otherwise, you're good to go

Get it appraised at a reputable jeweler, and have it replated so there are no scratches on it. She will see the appraisal with said jewelers name and you wont have to talk about where you got it.

Awesome move if you can pull it off.
Rings are stupid and incredibly over priced.
Don’t get married. It’s a trap.

Its called estate jewelry. If you just gotta buy a diamond that’s the only way to go.
Basically after you buy a diamond there is very little value left in it. Its better to get it at a reduced cost.
Make sure to tell her it is “Estate Jewelry”. present it as you were finally able to find the classic ring for her. To be honest you can find some older rings that are really beautifully designed. I personally like the design of some older jewelry. Some of the craftsmanship is incredible.
It’s all in the way you present it. My wife loves older pieces of jewelry.
Of course there is the other extreme route. One of my wife’s friends had an obnoxiously large diamond she loved to flash around and brag about.
Hubby left her. She had it appraised in order to sell it and found out it was fake.
I’m still amazed by that guys move.

You will be divorced in five years so just save the money.
Then when you split tell her "You can keep the ring I bought it used".

Is buying a used engagement ring on Facebook Marketplace trashy
The only thing I can think that's even more trashy are promise rings when you're out of high school.
Dated a woman earlier this year, 29 with a couple kids, made a big deal about wanting a promise ring. Yeah, that was my cue.
