Getting close to popping the question to the 2nd Mrs. Lowhound, and I already know that breaking the bank on a ring is not a good idea. Perusing Facebook Marketplace for some interesting last minute Christmas deals, I saw an unusual amount of solid deals on engagement rings. On the OT scale of 1 to 10, how pissed would Mrs. Lowhound #2 be if she ever found out it was a used ring? For informational purposes, this would be her first marriage as I went well lower in age when I traded in the last model, less maintenance and wear & tear.

Also a spinoff thread idea: the used engagement ring section on Craigslist or Facebook Marketplace looks to be a solidly underrated place to pick up chicks.

Edit: INB4 send pics so we can decide

Diamonds are trashy unless they're blood diamonds from your personal warlord.

spending a ton of cash on engagement ring is a scam, so do what you think is best. Used/new it's all the same.

Is saving the 1k really worth the consequences if she found out? If the answer is yes, dont buy a ring

If you got a great deal on a ring, why would the future Ms. care. That is money in the bank.

All rings are used. That gold has been around for a long time and probably used before.

Divorce is trashy. Second marriage is trashy. So go for the trifecta and go for the trashy ring!

See, this is what I'm talking about. Total wedding crashers type epiphany when I started seeing some of these girls putting their old engagement rings up for sale. A bunch of the ads say, "less than a year old" etc. and fine AF

Ah, but what's the back story on where I got it from? Do you let the cat out of the bag right off the bat, or say you got it from wherever the seller says it came from and let it ride?
