I really admire good stone and wood work. Craftsman level stuff.

A successful Plumber can make absolute bank. Cubicle life paves the way for living comfortably depending on what you do, but nothing wrong with someone deciding they don’t want a desk job in search of a Blue Collar trade.

I have total respect for a tradesman who is great at their craft. We need a lot more folks that aren’t afraid to do actual work.

Well said.

They always make it just a little bit stronger, too.

(Is quoting David Allan Coe trashy?)

People that are good at stuff like that are pretty cool, in my book.

People that are crappy at stuff like that, but do it anyway, are trashy.

No, it is a hardworking, needed job. Trashy is staying at home collecting government money when you could be out working as a bricklayer.

My background is in masonry. Don’t do it now but I can lay the shite out of a brick.

So, uh, yea masonry can be trashy.

Ate you slinging mud on a crew full of amigos, or are you a skilled bricklayer?

One is trashy.
The other isn’t.

It's cool when they do arches and stuff like that. I really like some of the brick work at old churches around town. People really put some skill into that, and it's held up for a long arse time.

Hell no. Hard honest work and you gotta be a skilled craftsman to be good at it. I actually enjoy it as a hobby but the time rarely comes where I get a small enough project.

Naw brah, meth producers and human traffickers are trashy.

Generalization is generally too generous.

It's an honest, necessary profession.

Bricklayers contribute greatly to society.

That is cool to hear. I’ve always liked you as a poster. I assume your family’s background was as well?

If a person loves what they do and they work to be the best at it, then no job is trashy

There is definitely a trashy OP.
