Lmao, what RNs do you know? My sister does this and lives in SF making just under 100k. If that's not a lot of money, you must be a millionaire, congrats.

Sure if you like repetitive shift work. The nurses @ my hospital bitch and complain more than teachers about their jobs.

any hospitals nationwide are going towards only hiring BSN nurses and making their current RNs obtain their BSN before a certain timeframe.

Just curious, is that because more people are going to college for nursing these days? Supply is higher so they are getting stricter for requirements?

Im starting new grads at 28.00 and there is not enough good ones to go around. As long as you arent a titanic a-hole or stealing percs out of the med room you will always have a job.

If that's your angle, why not be a hotel maid? Less school and you can score all the hot Hispanic pussy you want.

If you go to nursing school you better make a plan to either go straight for your BSN....or plan on going back to school to get your BSN online or something while working full time as a nurse.

I hope, you're fricking joking. I already have my nursing fin aid ready and will start this fall.

I might as well kill myslef, because I'm not taking another 2 years to get a fricking BSN degree

Look, if being a male nurse-dude is what you want to do in life then do it. Don't let money be the deciding factor.

No it makes the hospital look better if they can say they only hire BSN nurses. Also...many hospitals want to try to achieve magnet status. In order to do that...they have to have 80% or more of their nursing staff at least have a BSN.

BSN is only one extra year, you can do it all at once go 3 years and get the BSN or get your ASN in 2 years and do a 1 year online course to get your BSN... but he is right that it is in your best interest to get a BSN

my daughter got her BSN last year and is doing pretty well...she's interested in the nurse-midwife track, but there's no training reasonably close by that doesn't put you in more debt than an women's studies PhD!!!!!

Also, being a male nurse-dude, think of all the nurses you get to work with, go have drinks with and all that! Can't put a $$/hr on that.
