My FIL was, but only knew it because my MIL told me, he never mentioned it. He was a mechanical engineer and retired as a mid level manager at a large aerospace company, he did not really accomplish anything that plenty of people with less than genius IQs have.

It still doesn't make any sense, for her to diagnose you, for your parents to take it seriously without reference to other signs, and your post-hoc explanation. The usefulness of an IQ test in teenagers or preteens for autism is pretty limited, in my experience. By that age, it is the social and emotional issues that generally define the set of disorders, and usually it is found in females who are able to mime neuro-typical behaviors without understanding why, which is why the new context of near-adulthood provides a milieu for which the disorder can be diagnosed. A Hispanic co-worker back in the day was a member. He said their meetings were somewhat boring and there were only a few Better than average looking women members.

She apparently said it to them repeatedly over the years so they wanted her to shut the frick and shove it up her arse. Yeah, everyone else disagreed with her which is why they didn't do it when she mentioned it when I was like 6 or whatever, but they got sick of it when I got in her class.

As far as I know, the teacher never questioned my IQ and recognized I had some gifts (I had really good grades in history and biology since that actually interested me). If I had to guess though that was more my parents doing the IQ test and the autism test on the same day to kill two birds with one stone. What makes the most sense from my current perspective would be my dad saying "If we're going to get him tested for autism, lets have his IQ tested as well." They weren't frustrated for anything they thought was autism (they seriously doubted it), just that I was lazy as frick in school and thrived in anything I actually set my mind to. They brought that up repeatedly before and after I took that test.
As I said it was an all day affair, so I'm guessing they did one test in the morning and one in the afternoon. I was 13 so I don't remember it all that clearly save that I was interviewed, was given a few mind tests, and my parents being conflictingly happy and pissed off simultaneously on the ride home. I didn't know at the time I was being tested for autism (I knew about the IQ part going in), it's just my parents brought it up last year when apparently the behavior therapist died. That's the best I can give you, but this doubles down on my thought that the teacher directly targeted me in school.
Also she was a loon as well, which may be why this isn't adding up from your outsiders perspective.
