re: Is a ridiculously low fare worth taking one of the trash airlines?

I’m a pilot and I’ve never seen so many cancellations. They cancel flights for any little thing, especially weather. Crew shortages and computer frickups are common also.
Had a flight from Memphis to Denver on a Friday in February...it got cancelled 3 days before on a Tuesday for "weather"

Sorry you're poor

You’re probably broke because of your fricked up attitude on spending money.

I don’t know how they get away with it. I literally hate the airlines although I work for them.

Oh, and check the price of bags also. I think they charge for even carry-on bags, so unless you don’t wanna bring clothes, expect that price to rise.
Yeah, Spirit and Frontier offer $49 one-way flights if you fly naked, don’t bring a carry on, check a bag, or accept in-flight drinks/snacks.

The biggest risk is the flight getting canceled, which happens fairly regularly with Frontier, and the Delta fare being much more expensive upon that cancellation.

The biggest difference is their add on fees AND the people around you. Flew Spirit one time without choice. That won’t happen again. Also lack of things like chargers, Wi-Fi, etc.
If you are traveling light and short distance maybe.

I just signed up for the Spirit credik card because they have a convenient flight to St Louis and I have to fly 4 of us. I want the perks. If I’m going to live in Doodoo city I at least want to be the mayor.

Have to go to Columbus, OH, for a wedding the first week of June. A one-way flight there from ATL leaving after work hours is $49 on Frontier.
Is it worth dealing with the trash clientele and customer service? Or should I run away from that and just pay the ~$250 for a Delta flight?
I definitely second (or third) the notion to check all the various fees. By the time you pay for the privilege of selecting your seat, checked bag, carry on bag, etc the price may not be all that different.

My Opinion:
Discount Domestic Airline Direct Flight
is better than:
Connecting Domestic Flight on a Legacy Airline with an Upgraded Seat

$65 to check a bag on frontier . Found this out the hard way a few weeks ago.
I looked at the ticket agent person at the kiosk like they had 7 heads
Never again.

And they might have a 40 pound limit instead of 50 as well. Watch out for that.

Have a direct flight on Allegiant coming up in July and bundled everything together like checked bags, seat selection and everything since we’re bringing two small kids. It was still much cheaper and don’t have to connect anywhere. Only thing I’m worried about is them canceling the flight.

Clientele has never bothered me. Customer service is abysmal at all airlines unless you are a true frequent flyer.
But 4/5 times I fly Frontier or Spirit there is some frickery that gets me good.

My last Spirit flight was from Cleveland to Atlanta. As we were boarding a lady danced down the aisle and hollered, “Hey y’all! We bout to get this party started, fo real!”

What makes a passengers "trashy?"
Wearing jeans or shorts and polo shirts?
Or it is stuff like that idiot that Tyson punched?

Be prepared to have the flight cancelled on you with short notice and the next flight isn’t until 2 days later. Eat the $250
