Irish Channel St Pats Parade

Going this weekend for the first time. Other than a bunch of drunk wannabe Irishmen, what can we expect and where is a good place to watch the parade? Going to have a few kids with us.

They changed the route this year. I usually walk in the parade but I'm skipping this year. I would suggest watching along St. Charles since that's an option this year.

This is the normal route.
Construction on Louisiana had the route moved for the past few years.
St. Charles probably the best bet with kids. Magazine is a shitshow at end of parade near all the bars.

I’d take Baton Rouge overpass St. Pats over Irish Channel any day.
