Nothing can destroy Highland Coffees. That place has a hugely loyal following whose patrons will follow them. Inga's, on the other hand, has another location. I would hope those two businesses wouldn't be shuttered by any mass acquisition of that area, but the rest of that block is all pretty expendable. Bengals & Bandits is great, but they could be great anywhere (and likely have the capital to come back in the same spot. Mahoney's is lame, Slinky's is lamer, Insomnia is expensive, Geauld Tigers quit offering their cheap special, ect. That area could be so much better.

The big thing that needs to be fixed is that massive empty lot across from Newk's (aka, the old Mr. Gatty's).

Character?

The area has unlimited potential but the existing merchants haven't really done shite to improve and unify the area. The streetscape is horrid. To start off they need to bury electrical cables.

I agree, It's a cool arse building. Gay Nate is on the bottom floor of that building and cuts a mean hair cut, btw

In my opinion, there's actually a few buildings on Chimes worth saving
